Women Of Yore Tea

A specially dedicated Afternoon Tea in honour of ‘Women of Yore’ in the Drawing Room on Sunday 2nd February 2020 at 2pm.

Sit back & enjoy an afternoon of literature, history, fashion & song where we promise you heroines, countesses & delicious delights. This will be a fantastic afternoon of heritage and culture along with a serving of delicious afternoon tea, right here in the centre of Limerick’s Georgian Quarter. When purchasing tickets, please indicate if you have special dietary requirements. All attendees will receive a small ‘Women of Yore’ keepsake!

Historical costumer, Melissa Shiels, will demonstrate how Irish Countesses were political players in the Tudor court, using clothing and gifts of apparel to protect and promote Irish dynasties.

Literary Heroines of Yore
Join historical fiction authors Niamh Boyce and Nuala O’Connor as Rose Servitova leads a discussion on how the past has influenced their choice of female protagonist – how they reimagined the stories of both the infamous and those who were largely forgotten.

Award Winning Soprano, Eve Stafford
Award winning soprano, Eve Stafford, will musically enhance and enliven the drawing room by paying homage to Limerick’s world famous opera star of the Victorian era, Catherine Hayes. Eve will be accompanied by accomplished pianist Irina Dernova.
