Become a wine maker at No.1 Hotel in Limerick’s Georgian Quarter this summer.
Wine lovers will be thrilled to hear that their love of the good stuff can be taken to the next level with a wine making course at the food and wine lovers haven; No.1 Hotel and Spa in Limerick. The course, run by two passionate experts Liam Cabot and Simon Tyrell, begins on Wednesday September 11th at 7.30 and runs for five weeks, it suits all levels of interest in wine from the novice taster to the connoisseur and demystifies the magic of wine making, right here in the cosy wine room at No.1.
Those of you who remember wine-making kits will be excited to know that this course gets back to basics and works with real and simple ingredients; grapes, technique and time. Simon and Liam will take you through the exciting world of key grape varieties, winemaking regions, styles of wine, viticulture and vinifaction - and introduce you to some outstanding wines along the way. From grape pressing, to fermentation, quality control and even bottling, this course will take you from bumbling in the wine shop, to producing your own vintage at home in the kitchen.
To celebrate everything the group has learned together, the course culminates with a celebration meal in the hotels award winning Brasserie One with wines carefully selected to match every course and inspiring stories from Liam and Simon to take you to the wineries from where they came. You even get to taste your own wines and maybe win a prize for the best vintage.
The cost of this unique course is €225 and for five flavour and fun filled evenings doing what you love most. This price includes all your tuition, ingredients and equipment as well as the celebration feast.
